WEDDING · HUDSON VALLEY
THE GARDEN WEDDING
A long table under old trees, lit entirely by bulbs and candles as the light went.
An outdoor wedding built around one continuous table rather than a room full of rounds. Service was timed to the light: canapés while the sun was still on the orchard, the first course as it dropped behind the trees, and dessert entirely by candle. The kitchen ran from a tented field station forty metres from the table.
Ivory linen, unpolished glassware, a low greenery runner and nothing tall enough to interrupt a conversation across the table.
One hundred and twenty guests, one table, no seating shuffle between courses — the room never lost its energy.
- 01Passed canapés through golden hour
- 02Burrata and heirloom tomato to open
- 03Charcoal-grilled lamb, served family-style
